Review of Telehealth Solutions for Outpatient Heart Failure Care in a Veterans Health Affairs Hospital in the COVID-19 Era
Abstract
This study reviews how a Veterans Health Affairs hospital adapted its outpatient heart failure care model using telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. By integrating tools like video visits, remote monitoring, and digital stethoscopes — including the Eko DUO® — clinicians maintained continuity of care while reducing patient risk. The report highlights practical applications of telecardiology that may continue to shape heart failure management beyond the pandemic.
