Abstract

Auscultation remains one of the most essential skills in nursing, yet teaching it with traditional stethoscopes often limits sound quality and real-time feedback. This study evaluated whether a Bluetooth-connected stethoscope could improve pre-licensure nursing students’ ability to identify normal and abnormal heart and lung sounds. Over eight weeks of clinical use and sound review, students demonstrated greater proficiency and confidence. By combining sound visualization, recording, and wireless streaming, this technology provides a modern, scalable way to teach auscultation—supporting both education and patient safety outcomes.
