Eko Welcomes Tico Blumenthal as Vice President of Product

Eko is excited to welcome Tico Blumenthal as Vice President of Product. Tico joins Eko from Intuitive, where he served as head of product management for Ion, Intuitive's robotic-assisted platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the lung. Before Intuitive, Blumenthal held leadership positions at Cordis, Dock Technologies, and Medtronic, including as a co-founder of Medtronic's Shanghai Innovation Center.

As VP of Product, Tico will oversee Eko's product strategy and execution across the complete product lifecycle for hardware, software, and algorithms. Blumenthal will translate the company's vision of making every patient interaction an opportunity to screen for cardiovascular disease into commercially successful products.

"Tico brings invaluable vision, leadership, and execution to Eko's Product team, " said Eric Davidson, President and Chief Operating Officer of Eko. "We have an incredible pipeline of products and solutions focused on early cardiopulmonary disease detection. With Tico's leadership, Eko will be well-positioned to have a global impact on improving patient health in the years ahead. "

Tico joins Eko during a year of significant milestones. In January, the NHS published a landmark independent study validating Eko's ability to quickly screen patients, using proprietary AI, for heart failure during routine physical exams. The company was named one of the "10 most innovative medical device company of 2022 " and was awarded a "World Changing Idea " by Fast Company. Additionally, Eko was recognized for AI Innovation in Healthcare and named to the list of "Best Workplaces " for 2022 by Inc.

"I'm thrilled to join Eko to help accelerate the growth of such a dynamic team, " said Tico Blumenthal. "Eko's solutions are already enabling more healthcare professionals to detect cardiopulmonary disease earlier and realize the best possible outcomes for their patients. And the best is yet to come.
