INTRODUCING EFAST

Meet Eko’s most advanced cardiac AI yet.

Eko Health just announced EFAST, a new AI model designed to help clinicians identify structural murmurs associated with heart disease — while reducing alerts for innocent murmurs that don't require clinical intervention. EFAST also detects atrial fibrillation, the heart rhythm responsible for most strokes, with 95% sensitivity and 94% specificity during routine exams, with no additional test required.

EFAST integrates seamlessly into Eko's digital stethoscopes within the Eko+ software experience, providing real-time AI analysis alongside enhanced audio, waveform visualization, and guided exams — giving clinicians clearer, more actionable results at the point of care.

Key EFAST benefits:

  • Identify structural murmurs more accurately.
  • Reduce unnecessary follow-ups driven by innocent murmurs.
  • Improve rhythm classification.
  • Make faster, more confident decisions during routine exams.

"Clinicians don't just need more data — they need clearer answers. EFAST was built to surface what matters most: signs of real heart disease. By narrowing in on structural murmurs and improving detection clarity across cardiac conditions, EFAST helps clinicians move faster, with more confidence, at the point of care."

Connor Landgraf, Eko Co-founder and CEO

STRUCTURAL MURMUR DETECTION

Only flags clinically meaningful murmurs.

Structural heart disease often presents subtly. EFAST narrows detection to the murmurs that matter most, helping providers move from sound to insight in seconds. By only flagging murmurs associated with structural heart disease — like those linked to aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation — providers get a clearer cardiac picture at the point of care and make fewer unnecessary referrals.

AFIB DETECTION

Detects the heart rhythm that causes most strokes.

Atrial fibrillation affects tens of millions of people worldwide, and many don't know they have it. EFAST detects AFib accurately during routine exams, requiring no additional test, no separate workflow, and no extra time.

EFAST also provides clearer rhythm classification for clinical interpretation and reduces unclassified ECG results — giving providers more complete information with every exam.

CLINICAL WORKFLOW

Integrates seamlessly into current workflow.

EFAST delivers Al analysis through the Eko App and Eko+ during the exam while the patient is still in front of you. No additional steps, no separate portal, no wait.

From primary care to emergency departments to cardiology practices, EFAST integrates seamlessly with Eko's digital stethoscopes, providing realtime Al analysis alongside enhanced audio, waveform visualization, and guided exam workflows.

REAL-WORLD DATA

Built on millions of real-world heart sounds.

EFAST represents a major evolution of Eko’s cardio AI. At its core is Eko's cardiac foundation model, trained on millions of anonymized heart sound and ECG recordings collected across diverse care settings.

The model first learns a general representation of cardiac acoustics and electrical signals, then adapts that knowledge to specific clinical tasks through supervised fine-tuning — enabling strong performance across multiple conditions.
